Regional Head of Pricing & Underwriting Technical & Data Leadership – Hybrid
A leading international insurer with a strong presence across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas is seeking a senior technical leader to oversee pricing, underwriting, and data capabilities for the region. The organisation delivers global health solutions to individuals and businesses and is known for its focus on service quality, innovation, and sustainable portfolio management.
As the regional technical lead, you will take ownership of pricing strategy, group underwriting oversight, analytical practices, and data-driven decision-making across multiple markets. This role sits at the centre of the company’s growth agenda and requires someone who can blend actuarial depth with commercial awareness.
You will guide a multi-country technical team, partner closely with Product, Sales, and Operations, and act as a key counterpart to insurer partners on pricing and plan design.
Key Responsibilities - Provide leadership and direction to the regional technical team (pricing, underwriting support, product pricing, data), ensuring priorities are clear and standards remain high.
- Oversee customised quotations for group business, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and timely delivery.
- Strengthen the actuarial and technical framework across models, assumptions, and pricing methodologies.
- Review portfolio performance trends, medical inflation indicators, and claims developments to recommend adjustments and safeguard long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate with the Data function to improve automation, reporting, and analytical tools supporting strategic decisions.
- Lead technical discussions with insurer partners on rates, benefits, and portfolio management, balancing risk control with commercial objectives.
- Work closely with Product, Commercial, and Operations teams to support product enhancements, launches, and market expansion.
- Champion innovation by enhancing modelling techniques, tools, and processes to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Mentor technical staff and raise analytical and actuarial capability across the function.
Skills & Experience - Strong actuarial or technical background within health or medical insurance pricing, underwriting, or portfolio analytics.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally in a regional or multi-market capacity.
- Advanced analytical and modelling capability; familiarity with actuarial or statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Commercially minded, with experience engaging external partners on pricing or plan design.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical robustness and business objectives.
