Senior Underwriter, Medical (Regional)

Supporting the head of the life and health underwriting department, you will be managing day-to-day underwriting services whilst providing inputs for strategic plans for underwriting and successfully execute the strategies and proactively managing client relationship and engagement plans. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze underwriting data, medical records, and financial documents to ensure precise and competitive life risk evaluation.
  • Provide advice to pricing teams, medical literature review, and relevant statistical research to assist with assumptions setting, product pricing, and development of new pricing bases.
  • Manage referrals across all lines of business including complex cases and claims re-underwriting while ensuring that the decisions are consistent, competitive and timely.
  • Enhance company's regional footprint in Asia Pacific by engaging in industry associations and contribute to building the brand by active engagement in external and internal conferences and forums, publishing articles
  • Assist in developing new business by sharing inputs on product design, policy provisions, treaties, underwriting guidelines, initiatives, campaigns, and related requests.
  • Stay abreast of insurance products, industry shifts, regulatory updates, and risk assessment principles in the Asia market.
What we are looking for
  • 12+ years or more in relevant reinsurance business and proposition experience, with Asia regional exposure being essential.
  • University degree qualification, preference on Life Science, Finance, or equivalent subjects.
  • Professional Qualification similar to FLMI, FALU, ACII are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of products across on group and retail markets across Asian markets.
  • Fluent command of English and Cantonese proficiency required.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively within a high-performance team.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills would be advantageous.
