A leading global reinsurance organisation is seeking an experienced Life & Health claims professional to join its team in Hong Kong. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, underwriting, actuarial, and medical teams while contributing to the development of claims management practices across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Life & Health claims expertise across a portfolio of reinsurance clients
- Manage the assessment and resolution of claims on assigned accounts, including establishing appropriate case reserves and approving claim payments within delegated authority
- Conduct client visits and claims reviews to understand insurers’ claims handling practices and ensure alignment with contractual terms and market standards
- Provide recommendations and guidance to clients on best practices and improvements in claims management
- Support account strategy and portfolio management initiatives, including claims audits, settlement discussions, and commutation opportunities
- Analyse claims trends, loss development patterns, and contractual considerations, providing insights to underwriting and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, actuarial, and medical specialists on complex claims matters
- Engage with senior internal stakeholders and client representatives to provide clear, commercially informed claims advice
- Contribute to broader business objectives by providing claims insights that support portfolio performance and strategic decision-making
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Life & Health claims within insurance or reinsurance
- Experience working with regional or international portfolios preferred
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of Life & Health insurance products, claims processes, and reinsurance structures
- Good knowledge of market dynamics, portfolio management, and industry practices
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret claims data and identify trends
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions including underwriting, actuarial, and medical teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior client representatives
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing complex claims matters
- Fluent English required; Cantonese essential; Mandarin advantageous
