We are partnering with a leading international insurer on an exciting leadership opportunity within their regional executive committee team, based in Hong Kong. This is a regional position focused on driving profitable growth operating model, while strengthening brokers and clients relationships, robust governance, and diligent cost management across Asia.
The role would suit an experienced Head of Operations, COO, Head of IT Operations, insurance professional with strong leadership capabilities, with a proven track records on operating model transformation and optimization, and experience leading technology delivery.
Lead the regional Operating Model & Technology Transformation Strategy, act as a visible, trusted operations leader and advisor. Drive multi-country operational transformation and technology delivery through standardization, productivity, change management, digitization, AI automation, and embedded controls to ensure resilience, compliance, and service quality across markets and lines of business.
Key Responsibilities - Define and execute the target operating model and operational transformation roadmap; drive standardization, productivity/capacity planning, and change adoption.
- Own the IT/automation roadmap (incl. data/analytics) and deliver AI & Robotic Process Automation demand management (intake, prioritization, testing, business cases, benefits tracking, governance).
- Reengineer end-to-end workflows, embed controls, and automate/digitize processes to free capacity and improve efficiency and throughput.
- Lead operations people/culture and service delivery; ensure SLAs/quality, issue resolution, QA and continuous improvement with client feedback loops.
- Govern shared services delivery models; improve performance and cost-to-serve via transparent cost allocation and SLA/OLA governance.
- Embed operational controls and ensure alignment with risk, compliance, audit, privacy/data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Own budgets/cost control and procurement; manage third parties; ensure operational resilience/BCP; oversee IT service reliability, incident/change management, and release governance.
Key Requirements - Bachelor's degree (advanced degree/MBA advantageous)
- Lean Six Sigma certification or similar certification would be advantageous
- 10+ years in commercial insurance sector COO/ Head of Operations IT leadership experience delivering operations transformation and technology initiatives
- Proven track record in digitization/automation with measurable productivity uplift (AI/RPA experience preferred)
- Strong service management (SLAs/QA), governance/risk mindset, stakeholder management, and change leadership
