Business Analytics Manager (12M Contract) to HKD60K pm
Title: Business Analytics Manager Duration: 12 months Salary: HKD60,000 per month (depending on experience) - Chinese language requirement
Principal responsibilities - Management information (MI), reporting and performance insights
- Deliver end-to-end MI and performance reporting including sales tracking, service productivity, funnel/conversion, customer activity and channel performance.
- Translate business questions into analytical approaches, identify drivers of performance, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Build executive-ready narratives and insight packs, highlighting trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities.
- Dashboard development and data visualization
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards for different stakeholder groups (e.g., leadership, product, channel, operations).
- Apply modern visualization practices: clear KPI hierarchy, drill-through design, self-service filtering, and consistent UX standards.
- Implement dashboard performance optimization (data model design, incremental refresh strategies, efficient calculations).
- Data engineering and database programming (modern techniques)
- Build and maintain robust datasets and data marts to support analytics and reporting, including reusable curated layers for scorecards and dashboards.
- Write efficient, maintainable SQL(e.g., window functions, CTEs, query optimization) and implement data quality checks (reconciliation, anomaly detection, completeness).
- Apply modern data transformation approaches (e.g., modular ELT patterns, version-controlled transformations, automated testing where applicable).
- Support integration of multiple data sources (channel, product, CRM, operations) and ensure reliable refresh schedules and monitoring.
- Advanced analytics and automation
- Use Python/SQLto automate reporting workflows, perform statistical analysis, segmentation, forecasting, and experimentation where relevant.
- Develop repeatable analytical assets (reusable code, parameterized reports, standard KPI libraries).
- Promote best practices in documentation, peer review, and reproducibility.
- Stakeholder management and delivery
- Partner with business, product, operations and technology teams to gather requirements, prioritize demand, and deliver to agreed timelines.
- Communicate complex analytical findings in clear business language; influence decisions with evidence-based insights.
- Ensure deliverables meet governance expectations (data privacy, access control, auditability, and appropriate use).
Requirements: - University degree in Quantitative Analysis, statistics, computing or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, database management, software engineering, and system/reporting development
- Experience in commercial and/or digital banking (preferred), with understanding of sales/service performance measurement
- Strong hands-on capability in one or more: SQL, Python, Excel VBA
- Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (facts/dimensions, KPI calculation logic, reconciliation, data quality controls)
- Experience building production-grade reporting assets with attention to performance, reliability and maintainability
- With experience on Qlik Sense, QlikView or Tableau is an added advantage
- Strong ownership mindset and service orientation to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
- Good project management skills (planning, prioritization, risk/issue management)
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and structured communication
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese
