Title: Assistant Manager Corporate Action ServicesSalary: to HKD 125-30K per monthDuration: 12 months his role supports the Team Manager in supervising daily corporate action operations. It ensures that corporate action events, client instructions and related transactions are processed accurately, completely and within required service standards, market deadlines and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Support the Team Manager in supervising and coordinating the Corporate Action team.
- Review and approve corporate action events prepared by makers.
- Verify event details, deadlines, rates, entitlements and client instructions.
- Ensure instructions are approved before custodian, funding and system cut-off times.
- Confirm that all required instructions have been captured and processed.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding cases, discrepancies and exceptions.
- Assist with reconciliations and ensure breaks are resolved promptly.
- Complete daily control sheets, reports and corporate action checklists.
- Escalate errors, irregularities, missed deadlines and operational risks promptly.
- Respond to business partner enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with custodians, agents, settlements, payments, technology and other relevant teams.
- Provide accurate corporate action information to Marketing and client-facing teams.
- Support team training, workload management and knowledge sharing.
- Promote compliance with procedures, maker-checker controls and applicable requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational risk reduction.
Required Knowledge and Experience - Experience in corporate actions, securities operations, custody or a related banking operations function.
- Previous experience in a checker or team-supervisory role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of banking products and securities across multiple asset classes.
- Practical knowledge of corporate action events, including dividends, rights issues, redemptions, tender offers, mergers and reorganizations.
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment involving manual processing.
- Strong numerical, analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer literacy and knowledge of relevant banking or securities systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and operational risk awareness.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
