Role Overview
As a Senior Java Developer, you will serve as a technical leader on a small team focused on building our Event Messaging platform. This team is dedicated to one of our biggest clients. You will provide estimates, cooperate with platform SMEs on building requirements, develop Java code in partnership with other internal teams, and work with QA on defect resolution. You will engage regularly with your scrum team to advise, cooperate, and deliver for our client.
Responsibilities:
- Implement new event message topics within our Kafka-streaming environment and remediate bugs on client-facing deliverables written in Java
- Participate in Agile scrum ceremonies (including daily stand ups, story pointing, sprint reviews, etc.)
- Implement industry-wide best practices in data transmission
- Work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance staff throughout the software development lifecycle
- Consult on project estimates and user experience reviews
- Keep current on technical documentation for new front-end technologies and communicate an understanding to leadership
- Demonstrated programming experience on enterprise-level applications written in Java
- Strong aptitude in API development and building Event Messaging topics
- 10+ years in Experience working with a Java-based web application is also required.
- Previous integration experience with JSON and REST services is also a plus.
- Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization, external customers and vendors
- Proven ability to deliver within a small, focused, development team in a fast-moving environment

- Experience working with JIRA, Spring Source Tool Suite (Eclipse)
- Experience working with GitHub: pull request creation and merge conflict resolution
- Experience building JUNIT test cases to 90%+ coverage
- Knowledge of Spring Boot, Kafka, and SQL are a plus
