Role Overview
As part of the Life & Health (L&H) team in Hong Kong, the Senior Underwriter will deliver expert underwriting insights across life and critical illness products. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality underwriting services that meet company standards, while also strengthening client relationships and supporting business growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite life and critical illness insurance applications within delegated authority, in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Review client requests to update underwriting guidelines and provide market-relevant recommendations.
- Conduct client underwriting reviews and suggest operational enhancements.
- Assess internal procedures and recommend improvements to strengthen risk management.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with client underwriters.
- Mentor and support junior underwriters through coaching and training sessions.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular management reports.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–7 years’ experience in life and critical illness underwriting.
- Current underwriting authority for mortality and CI products, including sub-standard decisions.
- High Net Worth (HNW) authority is an advantage but not essential.
- In-depth understanding of mortality and CI products in the Hong Kong market.
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
