Renewals Manager - Group Life and Medical Products

Position Overview

As the Renewals Manager, you will lead our retention efforts for Group Life and Medical Products, ensuring high renewal rates and strong ongoing relationships with our broker partners. You will manage a team member while focusing on relationship maintenance, negotiation strategies, and service excellence to protect and grow our existing book of business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the renewals process for Group Life and Medical products (employee benefits)
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to maintain and improve renewal rates
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with brokers and agents, serving as their key point of contact for renewals
  • Manage renewal pricing negotiations to balance competitiveness with profitability
  • Analyze renewal performance metrics and develop action plans to address challenges
  • Provide expert consultation to brokers regarding policy adjustments and plan optimization
  • Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to resolve issues impacting renewal outcomes
  • Coach and develop one direct report, providing guidance and support for their professional growth
  • Create regular reporting on renewal performance and pipeline forecasting
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing client base
Qualifications
  • University degree or above, preferably in Business Management/Marketing or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in group insurance with demonstrated success in account management or renewals
  • Strong understanding of Group Life and Medical product pricing and underwriting principles
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to maintain business relationships
  • Experience managing staff preferred
  • Holder of IIQE Paper 1, 2 & 3 is required
  • Established relationships with brokers and agents in Employee Benefits sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Strong analytical abilities for evaluating renewal performance and business trends
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to meet retention targets
  • Native Cantonese speaker with fluency in English and Mandarin
